Update on Legislation NIMF 15 for certain shipments of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands

Regulatory changes and updates are part of the world of transport and logistics. On this occasion, we consider that it is important to inform from Lamaignere team of the obligation, as from April 16th, 2019, to use pallets that comply with NIMF legislation No. 15.

Said pallets must bear the badge (black spike), visible, which confirms that they have been subjected to an approved phytosanitary treatment.
It is a mandatory regulation since the non-use of them will entail sanctions, possible confiscation and destruction of the goods.

What is the purpose of this update in the regulations and who does it affect?

The clear aim is to preserve the phytosanitary status of the Canary Islands against pests and other organisms that may be considered harmful and that may be present in imports of vegetables, plant products and other objects.

The regulations are affected by all types of wooden packaging thicker than 6 millimeters. It should also be noted that it includes stowage.

In case of any question in this regard, our team of professionals with the Canarian Islands will advise you.
