Chile has ideal natural characteristics to open doors to the international market. Chile is a great exporting country, representing 60% of the Gross Domestic Product. The more than 8000 kilometers of Chilean coasts and their ports are the main causse of competitiveness. The breadth of its coasts allows an advantageous connectivity for the maritime transport of goods with strategic markets such as Asia, Europe and the main American economies.
Globalization and the advancement of new technologies have caused a change in international maritime transport, which has had to gain competitiveness.
Port of Valparaíso
Traditionally known as the main cargo port of Chile. It is located in the southwest of South America in the Valparaíso Region, 110 km from Santiago. The port of Valparaíso is perfectly located, connected by an extensive network of roads and railways that allow a large volume of imports and exports to be moved at the end of the year.
Port of San Antonio
The port of San Antonio is located in the central area of the country 100 km from Santiago. It has a strategic location and connection to the main roads. In addition, the port has an intermodal rail connection. The depth of its waters, ample length, a terminal specialized in solid bulks and a terminal protected against an adverse climate, are some of the characteristics that can be attributed to it.
Valparaiso and San Antonio as we have seen are the two main cargo ports of Chile and therefore, strategic areas of influence in the logistics sector and maritime freight.
In Lamaignere we agree that to offer a quality and efficient
maritime transport service is essential a strategic connectivity capable of optimizing the operation to give efficient and flexible solutions to companies.
