Lamaignere and 50 companies collaborate in the cleanup of 67 coastlines in Spain and Portugal with the Ecomar Foundation

In 2024, Lamaignere is proud to have been one of the 50 collaborating companies, alongside sponsors, partners, and donors, supporting the important coastal cleanup initiative in collaboration with the Ecomar Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to the conservation and preservation of our oceans. Thanks to this joint effort, 67 coastal cleanups were carried out across various regions of Spain and Portugal.

With the active participation of 3,508 volunteers and the support of these organizations, a total of 6,040.2 kg of waste was collected, directly contributing to the protection of our beaches and marine ecosystems.

Of the total 6,040.2 kg of waste collected, the breakdown according to official figures is as follows:

  • Packaging: 884.01 kg
  • Debris: 2,394.99 kg
  • Glass: 493.98 kg
  • Paper: 101.16 kg
  • Remains: 2,166.06 kg
  • Cigarette butts: 74,768

The cleanup activities took place across a wide range of areas, demonstrating the scope and relevance of this initiative throughout the territory. Each region played a key role in environmental protection, standing out for the commitment of its volunteers and the positive impact generated:

  • Madrid: 19 activities
  • Galicia: 4 activities
  • Asturias: 1 activity
  • Cantabria: 2 activities
  • Basque Country: 1 activity
  • Catalonia: 18 activities
  • Valencia Community: 6 activities
  • Balearic Islands: 1 activity
  • Murcia: 2 activities
  • Andalusia: 12 activities
  • Portugal: 1 activity
     

This initiative is part of Lamaignere's Green Plan 2024, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and the environment. Through this collaboration, alongside all the companies and volunteers involved, an important step has been taken toward the conservation of our seas and coastlines.
