Record for the foreign investments in Korea in 2017

The South Korean government boasts healthy international trade, extensive free trade agreements and an important focus on attracting foreign investment, which has seen it grow steadily over recent years. This increase in investment is due in particular to some factors that we will see below.

What are the factors that have contributed to the foreign investment?

The government is committed to free trade, providing tax incentives to foreign companies, as well as other measures to attract foreign capital. Despite the conflicts with North Korea and the trade blockade with China, Korea has achieved a record in foreign investment.

The manufacturing sectors of chemical products and information technology have been responsible for the strong growth of foreign investment. More precisely the screens and renewable batteries are the industries that received the most foreign investment, being the main pillars of the so-called "fourth industrial revolution".

As we said before, the Korean market is committed to internationalization and a globalized free trade market. It has more than 50 countries with which it has free trade agreements for goods and services.

Lamaignere team is aware of such data, because since we opened our office in Korea we have seen a remarkable growth in the turnover in the country of origin and also, as partners of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Korea, we have been able to observe a growing interest in Spanish companies in that country.
